Recommendations for Sway Control While Towing a Travel Trailer in Windy Conditions

Question:

I have an 2007 Chevy Avalanche and every so often tow a 4500 pound travel trailer. It tows find except when is windy and/or I am being pass by a truck. Would something like this help in such situations, or would you recommend something else?

Good news, I can help you figure out a solution to your sway issue.

The suspension enhancement from Timbren # TGMRYS4 you were looking at will help your Avalanche handle the sway a little better but not prevent the sway.

If you wanted to help prevent the sway, I would recommend the friction sway control bar # 83660. If your travel trailer happens to be over 26 feet long then you may want to get two sway control bars, the second can mount on the trailer with an additional weld on bracket # 3442.

I have attached a video of a similar anti-sway bar for you to see how it mounts and works for your convenience.
