The Brake Controller Wiring Adapters are model year specific. One end of the wiring adapter has a truck specific connector which plugs into the connector under the dash if it's present, the other end plugs into the back of most Tekonsha brake controllers of recent manufacturer, the Prodigy P2 for certain.

1995-2009 Ram trucks used the # 3020-P wiring adapter.
2010-2012 used # 3021-P
2013-2014 used # 3023-P
2015-2016 used # 3024-P

Keep in mind, that some Ram models only had the brake control connector under the dash if they were equipped with the factory installed 7-way trailer connector.
