Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport Turbo with Dual Exhaust
Question:
I need a hitch for my 2015 Hyundai Sport 2.0 Turbo. It has dual exhausts actually they look like a pair of exhausts on each side. Will this pose any particular problems? Ill be using this hitch for a hauling a pair of bicycles long distances and I see mention of a strap. What is this for, to prevent bouncing? What does it hook to, the trunk lid?

Curt trailer hitch # C11402 will fit all models of the 2015 Hyundai Sonata including your Sport turbo with dual exhaust. I have included a link to the installation details for you.
If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch.
Curt also says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load (such as a bike rack or cargo carrier) per their warranty requirements. The purpose of the strap is to reduce the stress on the hitch. It would hook to the trunk lid or anywhere that you can attach it to the vehicle.
I should note that the Draw-Tite hitch for your vehicle, # 24965, does not require the use of a strap.
If you do not already have a compatible bike rack I recommend the Swagman Trailhead # S63360. It holds 2 bikes, can tilt down, and it has a rise in the shank for additional ground clearance. I have linked a video review of this bike carrier for you.
