The part # C17125 is a drop shank for a weight distribution system. The head of the WD system like # C17075 is what holds the hitch ball. If you check out the product pictures for the # C17062 you will see that the head holds the hitch ball and the shank is what the head attaches to. The shank is separate from the head so that you can adjust the height of the hitch ball to allow your trailer to be towed level.
