My question was answered but have a major concern. when i view the product it clearly states it will not fit my mega cab. in my initial question i did state i had the Mega Cab. 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 6.7 Diesel Mega cab. My original question: I have a Reese 18K signature series fifth wheel slider receiver which mounts to a underbed rail system. will the Elite Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit - RP30074 fit the receiver i have? will this all work on my 2008 dodge ram mega cab?

Yes, the Reese under bed 5th wheel installation kit for Elite Series hitches, # RP30074, will fit your 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Short Bed Mega Cab. It also fits models without the Mega Cab and 14 other configurations and years of the Ram! I double, and triple-checked and even found it on page 4 of the linked instructions. So no worries, it does indeed fit your truck. I have linked a video showing an example installation on a similar truck.
