My Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller is Showing Zero When Appling the Brakes
Question:
I recently purchased a p3 break controller for my 2014 Tacoma. Once I installed the controller I hooked up my trailer to check if it works. Everything powered up on the controls and trailer just fine. When I set the p3 control to any level of gains it stays applied until I actually hit the break then I goes back to zero until I let off again. It seem to be back wards. The trailer breaks stay applied until I hit the truck breaks or manual. Im so confused. Any ideas?? Were to start troubleshooting??

I can definitely help you with your P3 on your 2014 Toyota Tacoma.
It sounds like you might have spliced into the wrong wire behind your brake pedal. According to our information the Tacoma typically uses the blue wire behind the brake pedal for the towed vehicle's brake light switch wire. I would start by testing that wire and it should only be live when applying pressure on the brake pedal.
If you are in need of a tester, we offer one right here on our site. # PTW2993
I have linked our Help article on installation and troubleshooting of a brake controller for your convenience.
