Do Trailer Breakaway Systems Lock Up Trailer Brakes When Activated
Question:
I am installing a breakaway brake system to a Idle Time RV and would like to know if it should lock the wheels when engaged or just engage enough to gradually stop the trailer? Thanks

A trailer breakaway system is designed to lock up the wheels of a trailer if the plunger is pulled. There would no way to actuate the braking power to go from slowing the trailer down to totally stopped so the systems are designed to provide full braking force.
I attached a help article on trailer breakaway systems for you to check out as well.
