How much side to side movement will you have with a Reese goose box before the hitch hits the shank of the ball?

When the Reese Goose Box # RP94716-61301 is coupled to the gooseneck ball there should be no side to side movement. Before the coupler is latched around the gooseneck ball, it may feel loose, but once the latch is engaged the connection should be secure.
The Reese Goose Box fits a 2-5/16 inch gooseneck ball.
