Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Harness Installation On 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude

I purchased I the wiring kit for my 2014 cherokee latitude. I installed according to the instructions provided. I now have an engine light that is on. What is the solution?

When installing the Curt T-Connector Trailer Wiring Harness on your 2014 Cherokee, you want to make sure you have the power wire from the powered converter run to the vehicle battery, and that you have the inline fuse installed.
I recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the pins on the 4-way connector for function. If you do not show power for the functions, you probably have a power wire issue, and the powered converter is not receiving the 12V power needed.
You may be able to get the light to go off by disconnecting the battery for a few seconds and that may reset the computer and clear the light for you.
