Thermostat Bypass for Use with a Derale Transmission Cooler
Question:
Which derales fluid control thermostat is recommended for the transmission cooler derale #d13503?
asked by: Tom M
Expert Reply:
I recommend Derale thermostat # D13011 with mounting bracket # D25793, and extra hose # D15799 when installing the Derale transmission cooler # D13503. The thermostat comes with the threaded ports and hose clamps so you will not need those separately.
The thermostat will allow 90 percent of the fluid to bypass the supplemental cooler until the fluid temperature reaches 180 degrees. So if you live in a cold climate and don't want to wait as long for the vehicle to warm up this thermostat is the way to go.
