Output and Amperage Draw of the Opti-Brite LED Interior Light # ILL08COB
Question:
Is ILL08COB suitable to replace a standard 4inch recessed interior trailer fixture? I need more light and changing from a standard 4inch inncandescent but want to make sure the power consumption is not a whole lot different. Hoping the LED technology will do more with less.

Expert Reply:
The Opti-Brite LED Interior Light # ILL08COB that you referenced would work well for you. Since this is an LED it will draw a fraction of what your current light fixtures draw and has an output of 1,400 Lumens so it will be plenty bright.
Watts measure the amount of energy required to light products. Lumens measure the amount of light produced. The more lumens in a light bulb, the brighter the light.
For reference:
40-watt incandescent bulb = 450 lumens
60-watt incandescent bulb = 800 lumens
100-watt incandescent bulb = 1600 lumens
This draws 1.61 amps. Your incandescents will have drawn much more than this.
