How do You Un-Couple a Reese 16K Ffith Wheel Trailer Hitch part RP30047
Question:
I bought a new 16k reese fith wheel hitch and had it installed .I hooked up with it and towed a unit home yesterday, I was not shown how to release it when I flipped the lock over and turned the handle a sheer pin broke off that holds the handle on. I will replace the pin but how do I get the hitch to release from the fith wheel pin

You do not turn or rotate the handle. Rotating the handle will damage it. You pull it straight out, away from the head, with the latch flipped up.
The installer should have given you the Instruction Manual once the installation was complete. Half-way down page 5 of the manual, the hitching procedure is listed. Half-way down page 7, the manual covers the un-hitching process. Read these sections and follow the steps carefully. You can damage the hitch or risk the trailer un-coupling if the procedures are not followed.
