Which Way Should Single Servo Hydraulic Trailer Brake Cylinders Push
Question:
I have a boat trailer with hydraulic breaks on the front axle. The smaller shoe is forward and the wheel cylinder pushes on the back larger break. Is the correct.

I suppose it depends on the brake assembly but if you take a look at Demco brake assembly # 23510 the smaller shoe is forward and the wheel cylinder pushes on that smaller shoe. It is the same way for all of the 12 x 2 inch, single servo, brake assemblies we have.
It sounds like the wheel cylinder is facing the wrong way on your trailer.
