Recommended Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System for 2,500 Pound R-Pod Trailer
Question:
Hello, Nissan Xterra 2015 model with factory hitch, pulling RPod 177 with 2437 unloaded weight, 245 tongue weight. Which weight distribution hitch with sway control do you recommend? Im considering the fastway e2, but there are several different models. The light duty for $299 states a minimum tongue wt. of 400, but my tongue weight is 245 plus maybe 100 pounds when I put the dog and cage in the back. I think there was another fastway that had a lighter tongue weight.

The Fastway e2 system I recommend for your trailer is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 4,500 Pounds Gross Towing Weight, 450 Tongue Weight # FA92-00-0450.
This system has a maximum tongue weight rating of 450 pounds and a max gross towing weight of 4,500 pounds. This will provide you with enough capacity to tow your trailer with the empty 245 pound tongue weight plus the additional 100 pound weight of your dog and cargo in the rear of your tow vehicle.
A hitch ball with a 1 inch diameter shank is used with this system. For a hitch ball with a diameter of 1-7/8 inches, you can use part # 19260. For a hitch ball with a diameter of 2 inches, you can use part # 63845.
I have attached a help article on weight distribution systems for you.
