Adding Tail Lights to a Cargo Carrier at the Back of a Travel Trailer
Question:
I have purchased 6inch oval LEDs with the right angle wiring plug, grommets and light boxes all from etrailer.. I have a cargo rack on the back of my camper that I want to mount additional tail, turn, and stop lights on when I load my cargo rack with gear, it is sometimes hard to see the campers tail lights from the rear.. so I want to add these lights for added saftey... Can I simply connect into the existing wires that lead to the campers tail lights to power these additional lights on the cargo rack? If so, is there a 3 way connector you would recommend or do you recommend soldering the wires together? The camper uses a standard 7 pin connection for lights.. thanks!!

First for a light kit that is designed for certain cargo carriers you can use # 98174LED. It uses a 4-Way connector and since the brake and turn signal lights on your trailer are combined (based on the fact that it uses a 7-Way connector) To add a 4-Way you can tap into the trailer's lights using # 118001. And to mount it at the back of the trailer you can use bracket # 18144. Depending on the cargo carrier you have you may also need 2 of bracket # BK70BB to attach the lights.
