Adapter to Use 2 Inch Accessories in a 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch
Question:
Hello I was wondering if the shortest hitch receiver is 6inch in length? And if theres an alternative style you recommend. My use would be for covering the hitch w a hitch cover accessory not necessarily to tow anything . Thanks for your answers in advance.

Six inches is going to be the shortest 1-1/4 to 2 inch adapter we have, # 80303. But this adapter only fits Class II 1-1/4 inch receivers. If the vehicle has a Class I trailer hitch then you would need # HTAD. I have linked a video review for you.
Please note that when using an adapter it will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent. For example if you had a Class I hitch rated for 200 pounds tongue weight that capacity would be reduced to 100 pounds when using the adapter.
