Powering Hydraulic Dump on Dump Trailer
Question:
What parts do I need to run my truck battery power to dump trailer?

If you are looking for something to power the dump on your dump trailer, I highly recommend an independent battery specifically for powering the dump trailer. We have a few different options for charging the battery on the dump trailer. Powering the dump off of the vehicle battery may put too much draw on the vehicle battery.
One way you could charge the battery to power the dump trailer is using a NOCO Genius Battery Charger and Maintainer # 329-GENIUS5. This battery charger maintains and charges 12V batteries, and uses a pulse-maintenance technology to make sure the batter is not under- or overcharged.
Another way you could go about charging the battery on your dump trailer is a solar panel. Using a solar panel allows the trailer battery to charge while the trailer is sitting outside, and would not require the battery be plugged in to recharge. We recently installed the TorkLift Solar Power Kit # TLA7713 on a dump trailer to charge the battery. I have attached the installation video for you.
You could also provide a maintenance charge to the trailer's battery using a 12V power circuit from the vehicle. This would be done by running a 10 gauge power wire from the position 4 terminal (12V power wire) on the 7-way connector to the positive terminal on the trailer's battery. This will not charger the battery from a depleted state, but it will allow you to maintain the battery's charge.
