Can I Use # BUL69CB As Both Backup and Area Lighting
Question:
Hello, I plan to hook up a few BUL69CBs on my trailer. I would like to use them as both back-up reverse lights as well as area lighting when pulling into camp at night. I have a 7-pin connector so my plan was to wire the BUL69CBs up by connecting them to both the back-up reverse wire as well as the 12V hot lead wire. I would splice in a water-proof /fused switch on the 12V lead to the light and mount the switch on the trailer. The idea being I would be able to turn the lights off and on from the trailer and not have to be in reverse for them to be on. Will this kind of set-up work? If not, any other suggestions? Thanks!

That will work. you will just want to make sure you splice your backup wire into the power wire between the power switch and the lights and not before the power switch.
