Tow Bar Base Plates and Wiring for 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
What base plate kit, adapter kit and wiring harness do I need to use my BlueOx Alpha on my 1999 Grand Cherokee? So far I found I need a RM 1419- plate assy, RM 037 Adapter Kit, and a BX 4322 wiring kit. Is this all and do you carry all of these? Thanks.

For base plates, I'd recommend the Blue Ox # BX1115. To wire your vehicle, Blue Ox recommends a bulb and socket kit like part # BX8869. A bulb and socket kit will install by drilling a hole in the rear of the taillight assemblies and installing an additional bulb for use when towing the vehicle. This wiring set up won't require any cutting or splicing into the vehicle wiring, which makes for a pretty easy installation. You'll also need an umbilical like # BX88254 which includes a 4 pin round trailer connector for the front of the towed vehicle. You could also use RM-2120 for quick install lights.
Many states now require a supplemental braking system. I'd recommend the Blue Ox Patriot, part # BRK2012. The system is very easy to install and remove, instead of taking hours of expensive installation like other systems.
