Bike Rack Recommendation for Short Wheelbase Recumbent and Other Bikes
Question:
Hello, can this platform hold 3 standard bikes along with a recumbent bike? The recumbent is a Vision R-40 USS. It has a 36inch wheel base. However, the seat is 17inch wide and the USS handlebars are 26inch wide. My concern is the handlebars of the R-40 will be need to be threaded in-between the chain/peddles of the other bikes IFinch this could even work. I could try and put the R-40 on last, so the bars are only impaling one bike ?. Can you offer any advice? Im trying to find one rack to use for all 4 bikes. I could easily put 3 on a rear swing bar and the R-40 on a separate roof rack, but A Thats a pain B Thats a lot of money. Any assistance you could offer would be greatly appreciated! The only style of bike rack that is going to fit your recumbent is going to be a fork mounted roof rack since all of the usual attachment points on the bike are not easily accessible.
Since your wheel span is pretty short a standard roof bike rack would work like the part # Y02098.
For the rest of the bikes a platform bike rack like the # Y02469 would work great. Or for a rack just for 3 bikes part # KU24FR.
