Recommended Replacement Trailer Wiring Harness for 2014 Dodge ProMaster 1500 Van
Question:
Hi, Im interested in part number 22112.. My van is a 2014 pro master 1500. It does not have any pre wiring that I know of and harness is not damaged. So my question is will this harness work for me to hook up my trailer. Also will this cause me to have my ecu programmed for this kit. Thank you.

The Tekonsha Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness # 22112 that you referenced is intended as an OEM replacement on vehicles that have the factory-installed tow package. If this is what you vehicle's OEM harness looks like it will work fine without generating any messages on your display or requiring dealer attention.
However, if your van does NOT have factory wiring you can use one of the three 4-pole harness options shown on the linked page. All of these use powered converters to protect the van's own wiring from any faults or shorts in the trailer's wiring and all have a 4-poe flat type trailer connector. Of the three I recommend the Tow Ready # 118618 because of its higher current output capability.
Any of these 4-pole connectors can be converted to a 7-way blade style connector (like the one included on part # 22112) by addition of a part such as # 37185. This simply plugs in to the 4-pole and additional pigtail leads are provided to make the other connections typically found on a 7-way: 12V trailer power, trailer brake signals from a brake controller like the P2 # 90885, and a reverse light signal. Please refer to the linked photo for illustration.
