There are a couple things needed to be able to charge the battery on your trailer. First you will need to make sure the alternator on your vehicle can handle charging the trailer battery.
Second, you will need a heavy-duty wire that can handle the amperage for the distance needed.
I recommend using the 7-way connector to provide the maintenance charge for the trailer battery. The wire gauge on the wire that is used to maintain a charge on your trailer battery would be 10 gauge, like part # 10-1-1. The circuit breaker that is recommended is a 40 amp circuit breaker, part # PK54540. This will allow you to maintain a charge on your trailer battery, but it will not charge the battery from a discharged state.
To fully charge a depleted battery, I recommend using an AC powered charger like the NOCO Genius # 329-GENIUS5 when you have AC power available.
