Availability of 2-Inch Weight Distribution Shank with Tongue Weight Rating Higher Than 1600-lbs

Question:

On Reese shank RP54998, can you tell me the measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the bolt holes. Also, on Reese shank RP54998, since it is grooved along the side, will it work with a standard Reese trunnion style weight distribution head or is one needed that is designed to slide into the grooves? Finally, I have Curt hitch C15409 which is a Class V hitch but with a 2inch receiver opening. Are there any 2inch shanks which have a similar rating to the hitch. I am mostly concerned about tongue weight. The C15409 has a rating of 2550 lbs and the highest rated 2inch shank I have found is the RP54998 which is rated at 1,600 lbs

On the Reese weight distribution shank # RP54998 the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the head mounting holes is 9-1/4-inches. This is shown on the linked photo. This shank will work with your Reese trunnion head assembly. The grooves in the shank are provided to allow mounting of certain accessories.

We do offer 2-inch weight distribution shanks with tongue weight (TW) ratings higher than 1600-lbs. For example, Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Weight Distribution Shank # AMAC1 has a TW rating of 2000-lbs.
