How Does the Optronics Trailer Lights # STL78RB Wire to the Passenger Side of a Trailer

Question:

Hi, Have these mounted on driver and curb side. For my trailer 2012 Lance 1575 the drivers side seems fine red to red black to black and ground white to white. The curb side is my dilemma. I have brown green and white on that side. Have connected light red turn and brake to the trailer green and light black to trailer brown tail light and ground to ground. The light does all three functions WHEN my tow vehicle headlights are off. When the headlights are on, I get tail light but not turn light/blink on the curb side. Tow vehicle 20117 Nissan xterra. Any suggestions??? Guidance??? Thank you.

On the right side of your trailer the green wire should be the right turn/stop signal and the brown should be the running or taillights. So basically the brown of your trailer should run to the black of the light, the green of your trailer should run to the stop/turn signal, and the white should run to the white.

If that is how you wired it up on your trailer and you are still having problems when the headlights are on that would indicate you have a ground issue. What you will want to do is make sure the ground wire of the light gets run to a clean metal surface that touches the frame of the trailer and that the main ground strap that runs from the trailer wiring harness to the frame of the trailer is connected to a clean metal surface on your trailer.

I attached a couple help articles on trailer wiring/lighting for you to check out as well.
