Converting 7-Way Blade To 4-Way Flat On Trailer

Question:

My husband wants to replace the writing on our old 10foot coleman pop up camper. it is currently a 7 way blade and since our 2006 Nissan Xterra has a 4 way flat adapter he wants to rewire the trailer with a 4 way flat. Is it ok to run a 4 way flat to run the camper lights? The camper does not have electric brakes.

Yes, it is possible to convert your 7-way on your trailer to a 4-way. To replace the wiring on your Coleman 10 Foot pop up camper we offer wiring adapters that allow connection of different formats of trailer wiring. The best option to change the wiring on your trailer to match the 4-Flat on your Xterra is to cut off the 7-Way blade, and then install (them in) a trailer side 4-Way # A35W42B. The right turn function is the GREEN wire, the left turn function is the YELLOW wire, The trailer's ground point wire is the WHITE wire, and the brake light functions are for the BROWN wires. This is a wishbone harness so there are two brown wires, one for each side of the trailer.
