Do i need to even hook up yellow wire on adapter?? Thanks

The yellow wire of the 7-way adapter part # 30717 is an aux. circuit that typically gets used for reverse lights. If you have no use for that circuit you would not have to hook it up. You could then just tape it up and out of the way.
