Does the Universal Cam-Door Lock for Enclosed Trailers # 383200 Require Welding

Question:

Can the cam and lock brackets be welded ? Do the cams need to be welded to the pipe?

Expert Reply:

For the installation of the Universal Cam-Door Lock for Enclosed Trailers # 383200 the only portion of it that requires welding is the handle to the pipe that you will supply. The rest of the assembly does not require welding for installation. The pipe you go with will need a 3/4 inch inner diameter and the cam ends will slip in there without requiring welding.

The rest of the assembly is designed to be bolted to a trailer. But if you wanted to weld it there's no reason you couldn't.
