Can Extra Wires of the 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter 30717 be Taped Up If Not Needed
Question:
I have the curt t connector with 4 pin installed on truck now. I am installing the 4 pin to 7 pin vehicle end adapter for a new boat trailer eith surge brakes and wondering how to hook up yellow wire. Can I hook directly into the T harness that is going from one tail light to the other, or do I have to tie in behind one of the lights? What is needed to accomplish this? Thanks

Expert Reply:
If the surge brakes on your trailer do not have an electric reverse lockout then you could just tape up all of the wires that you didn't need of the # 30717 and you would be good to go.
If the trailer does have an electric reverse lockout you would need to run the yellow wire to the reverse light circuit of your trailer and then also ground the white wire and you would be good to go.
