Will Reese Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit Work With Reese 16K Hitch On 2015 GMC Sierra 2500
Question:
Will the custom fit brackets RP56001 also fit on the RP50066-58 Rails for a 2015 GMC 2500 6.5 bed? I have RP30051 hitch with the RP30035 rail kit in my 2012 2500 6.5 bed and am going to move it to my 2015 GMC and use a custom bracket. I see that bracket RP56001 is less expensive than the RP50066 bracket.

The Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # RP50066 will be what you need for your 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 with a 6-1/2 ft bed.
These brackets are intended to be able to work with your # RP30035 rails.
The # RP56001 brackets are designed to be installed on the outboard side of the frame rails and would require a longer set of base rails, so they will not work with the rails you have.
Any time you are installing the base rails in a new vehicle the hardware should all be replaced. The replacement hardware kit that can be used for the # RP50066 rails is part # RP50066F.
The replacement hardware to install the base rails you need is part # 58164.
By the time you buy the brackets and replacement hardware for your Sierra, you may want to just purchase the entire installation kit.
For the kit that installs on the outboard side of the truck frame rails you can order part # RP56001-53.
For the installation kit that attaches to the inboard side of the frame rails you can order part # RP50066-58.
If you need a lube plate for your Reese hitch I recommend part # RP83002. This is a 10 inch lube plate designed for 16k and 22k capacity hitches.
