Recommendation for 2015 Ford F-350 w/ Factory Puck System Towing 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer

Question:

I got an answer back from Leah about how the RP508079 will not work with the RP30156. Leah suggested using the RP30138 but I dont want a ball sticking up in the bed of my truck all the time. Plus its a brand new truck I dont want a hole put in the truck nor have one there when I sell it. Isnt there something made that will work without blocking the bed. something with the adapter?

Although the Reese Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, # RP58079, will not work with the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter, # RP30156, I do have a solution for you.

Instead, I recommend going with the Reese Elite Series Under-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Head Kit, # RP30138, in your 2015 Ford F-350 with the factory puck system. This offers a bolt-in, no drill installation which means you won't have to drill into the frame of your truck. Just one hole in the bed for the gooseneck ball and you will be ready to go.

You could use the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter, # RP30156, with your sliding fifth wheel hitch and you would now have the equipment to tow either style of trailer.

The Reese Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, # RP58079, that you mentioned uses mounting holes which measure 10" apart on center. The Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter, # RP30156, has mounting holes which measure 20-1/2 inches and 29 inches apart on center so these two would not work together.

I think that I have exactly what you are looking for. Since you do not want to drill into the bed of your 2015 Ford F-350 to install a gooseneck hitch, take a look at the Reese Elite Series Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, # RP30845. When not in use, you will need quite a bit more room to store it but this option will provide you with a gooseneck hitch that doesn't require you to drill into the bed of your truck. The a Reese Underbed Rail Adapter, # RP30156, that was mentioned will only need to be used when mounting your fifth wheel hitch into the puck system.
