Trailer Hitch for a 2007 Subaru Forester to Carry a Motorcycle
Question:
Hello! I own a 2007 Subaru forester. Im looking for a hitch with a 2inch receiver that can hold roughly 310#s. Is there an option that would work? I cant seem to find one and was hoping one of your experts might have an idea.

The only trailer hitch available for your 2007 Subaru Forester are Class II hitches with 1-1/4 inch receivers. But the Curt option, # C12038, has a high enough tongue weight capacity at 350 pounds. You would just need a carrier that fits a Class II hitch. And you will also want to check the vehicle owners manual for the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle. Whatever is lower, the hitch or the vehicle, is the capacity you need to go by.
If you can tell me the size of the motorcycle you want to carry (wheelbase and tire width) I can determine if we have any carriers that would work for you. With the Curt hitch and using a non-trailer load you also must use stabilization strap # 18050 per Curt's warranty requirements.
If there isn't a carrier available the only other option is to tow a small trailer. To tow a trailer you will need a ball mount, # C45503, a ball, # A-80 for a 1-7/8 inch or # A-82 for a 2 inch. And you will need wiring, # 118461.
