Estimated Height Maximum When Adding Gear to a Pro Series Cargo Carrier on a 2012 Honda Odyssey
Question:
My 2011 Odyssey has a trailer 2inch hitch that we use for a bike rack. We dont have any trailer lighting installed. If I use this cargo carrier, how high can my contents be before blocking the Odyssey tail lights? Id prefer not to add the expense of the lighting, etc. hope this question makes sense! Thanks!

The height of the contents you load onto the Pro Series cargo carrier # 63153 can be about 18-inches give or take a couple to be on the safe side. It's tough to pinpoint the exact measurement and as long as you keep your gear below the taillights, you won't need a light kit. See the video about the cargo carrier installation I included at the :42 second mark.
It is important to keep in mind that the lowest-rated component in the hitch/carrier system determines the overall capacity. Check your owners manual to determine your 2011 Honda Odyssey's tongue weight which is typically 10-15 percent of its towing capacity.
For example: Your tongue weight is 350-525 pounds and this Pro Series cargo carrier # 63153 weighs 60 pounds. Therefore, you will have a cargo weight limit between 290-465 pounds maximum.
If you happen to get lighting in the future you could use the light kit # 20174. For a locking, anti-rattle hitch pin I recommend the # 63232.
I added a few installation videos and a informative article for you too.
