Troubleshooting Fuse Blowing in 2006 Chevrolet Silverado After New 7-Way is Installed
Question:
I installed a new 7 way plug to my 2006 Chevy 2500HD, I notice that when I plug in my trailer to the truck the side marker lights turn on for about a minute but then it pops the fuse on the truck. Everything else works turn signals and brake lights but no side maker lights. It happens with both of my trailers. Then I put the trailer on my 2006 Ford F-350 everything works fine with both trailers???

From the details that you have given it is pretty apparent that the issue is with the 7-way on the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. I recommend reviewing the installation instructions and making sure that each step was completed and that nothing has come loose. I would also check to make sure that the ground is secured to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface.
