Installing a Brake Controller on a 2007 Toyota RAV4 with Factory Trailer Connector
Question:
Hi, I have a 2007 Rav 4 with Factory fitted Trailer adapter. I would like to install a Primus IQ if this is the best option and would like to know if I require any additional parts i.e circuit breakers etc or just direct wire similar to the Toyota Highlander Thanks in advance

Is the trailer connector on your 2007 Toyota RAV4 a 4-Way flat or a 7-Way? If it is a 4-Way flat then you will need to add a 7-Way using # ETBC7. This kit also comes with the wiring needed to install the brake controller # TK90160. The RAV4 does not have a port to plug in the brake controller so it will have to be hardwired in. I have included some links that explain the ETBC7 installation.
If your RAV4 already has a 7-Way you will not need ETBC7 but you will need # 5506 and you will follow the relevant parts of the ETBC7 installation instructions to complete the brake controller install.
