Trailer Hitch for a 2015 Volkswagen GTI
Question:
Hello, Can you advise why only Curt is listed for GTI, but Golf is shown with more options? Did you try to fit Hidden Hitch 60362 on a 2015 GTI and it didnt fit? There are a few of us on a VW forum considering getting a hitch for our 2015 GTIs, but really prefer Hidden Hitch over Curt based on the appearance. Greatly appreciate if you could confirm Hidden Hitch fitment on GTI. Im sure quite a few folks would get the HH once/if its confirmed that it will fit on GTI. Thank you!

Hidden Hitch has does not have any trailer hitches for the 2015 Volkswagen GTI which is why you do not see it listed. We could test fit a hitch but we would need a willing volunteer in the Wentzville, Missouri area. Since Golf and GTI are separate models that is why there are other options for it.
The Hidden Hitch models for the 2014 Golf are different than the ones listed for the 2014 GTI so Hidden Hitch will likely produce an all new hitch for the 2015 GTI.
Basically the bottom line is that Hidden Hitch does not have any fits for the 2015 GTI and you can't go by the fits from other manufacturers or previous years because they have not been tested.
If you needed a hitch right away then Curt hitch # C11412 is the only option currently available.
If you plan on using the hitch for towing please consult the vehicle owners manual for the towing capacity. The correct ball mount to use is # C45016. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For wiring though you would have to go to a Volkswagen dealer.
If you plan on using the hitch for a bike rack or cargo carrier Curt says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050. Also the accessory has to be Class I compatible and for a bike rack you are limited to 2 bikes maximum.
