Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2015 Ford -250 Superduty Towing a 8k Trailer
Question:
I just bought a 2015 Ford -250 Superduty crewcab 6.7 ltr diesel. I will be pulling my summerland 28foot travel trailer that weighs 6k empty and 8k full. Can you suggest a weight distribution and sway control kit?

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
Since your trailer will weigh around 8k when loaded your tongue weight will be most likely between 800 and 1,200 lbs. The Strait Line WD System part # RP66130 would be a great choice as it's tongue weight range is 800-1,500 lbs. It also features the only sway control on the market that works to prevent sway before it starts.
