Hopkins Back Up Camera Recommendation to Replace Damaged One

Will this unit plug into the back of an already installed in-dash unit that has the socket for a backup camera, instead of using the monitor that came with the unit.

Most likely not, the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera # HM50002 that you referenced uses connectors that are specific to the monitor and the camera. They aren't universal connectors so it would be highly unlikely you would be able to connect the camera up to a different monitor.

You would want to either install and use all of the # HM50002 or find a new camera for your current setup.
