Transmission Cooler Recommended for 2007 Honda Pilot
Question:
I have seen that Honda says that to tow you need a trans and power steering cooler installed. Do you? What about coolers made for vehicles other than Honda? Hondas cost of the coolers make trailer towing less affordable. I am going to tow no more than 2000#. Thanks

If Honda recommends using a transmission cooler, it would be a good idea to follow that recommendation. I would not consider frequent towing without a transmission cooler. A transmission cooler is an inexpensive insurance policy that will extend the life of your transmission. An aftermarket cooler would work just fine for your application. We offer an aftermarket Derale Transmission Cooler, part # D13101 that would be a great choice for your Pilot.
A power steering cooler like part # D13200 would also be an inexpensive investment to protect your power steering unit.
We have an online video that you might find helpful. The video shows the install of a transmission cooler on a Honda Pilot, I will include a link to the video below.
