Troubleshooting Trailer Left Turn/Brake Light Not Functioning on Trailer Wiring
Question:
left side signal and break light not working on lance 2003 camper

Most likely the problem is the ground of the trailer's left side turn signal and brake light.
Make sure that the vehicle side and trailer side connectors are clean and free of corrosion inside and out. The main connector grounds should be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. The light grounds should also be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces.
To rule out your tow vehicle as the problem you can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the left turn stop/turn circuit for voltage when either the brakes are applied or the blinker is on. If there isn't voltage there then the problem is either corrosion on the inside or back of the connector, exposed wire on the circuit that has shorted it out, or a fuse is blown under the hood of your truck.
