Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the protective covers next to each tail light to access this harness.

Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Everything works as it should except on the right brake like comes on when hooked to a trailer. I’ve tried multiple trailers with the same issue on each one. Can’t get the left brake light to come on

I hate to hear that the harness is not working for you. There could be a few different reasons why it is not working. I recommend checking to make sure that the connectors are seated together tightly. And that a fuse has not blown or missing that is on the harness. Also make sure the ground is grounded to bare metal. I have an FAQ below that explains ways to trouble shoot in more detail. If this does not work for you, please let me know.

by:

Defective product. After about 4 months the driver side light stopped working. Dealership said it was this product that caused the problem. It was disconnected and $500 later the light works now.

by:

This is wired wrong from the factory. On a 2021 Bronco FE the turn signal lights will light up when hitting the brakes. I moved the pin in the plug and now the brake lights light up when hitting the RV brakes. While on my travels I see multiple Broncos being flat towed with the yellow turn signal lights coming on while the RV is braking. They decided to not make the adjustment and wire it as supplied.

After reaching out to the manufacturer about this, it sounds like maybe your Bronco has incandescent bulbs, and this part for LEDs. The wiring harness for incandescent bulbs is part # TK33VR. Your vehicles owners manual should tell you what kind of bulb you have if you are unsure.

by:

Install took quite awhile and will have to get some type of bracket for plug just hangs there. Still don’t understand why you have to run wire to battery! A lot of extra time. But have to say it works perfectly.

Oh, good! Nice to see that the harness is doing its job well. I just wanted to briefly explain the black wire that runs to the battery. Essentially, it is there so that the harness draws power directly from the battery of the vehicle and not from the tail lights. Since the wiring systems in newer vehicles can be much more delicate, wiring it this way can prevent issues on the tow vehicle and trailer wiring. Although it is more work, installing it this way does give a little peace of mind knowing it is better protected this way.

by:

I think the person who wired this system up was sick on wiring day. This is a plug n play system. It don’t take rocket science to install the harness. I installed the harness step by step and when you hit the right blinker, all lights flash as if your 4 way flashers were on. When I hit the left blinker, nothing happens. But however the taillights and brake lights work fine. Not happy with the product. Waste of my time and money.

Its unfortunate that you are having this problem. If you are still needing some assistance, please contact our tech department and they will be more than happy to assist you in getting this wired correctly.

by:

Easy to install. I took longer, just because I wrapped the harness in Convoluted tubing and added an extra lighting at the same time.

by:

It did not work properly on my 2022 Bronco Big Bend model. The local installer had to use another product. Your service is good. But sometimes the product just doesn't match up.

I am sorry to hear that the harness did not work for you. I would like to look into this and I have a few questions that I would like to ask. Does your Bronco have LED tail lights? Is your Bronco a Sport model? Can you tell me in more detail what happened with the harness?

by:
2021 Ford Bronco

the etrailer website said this was the only harness that they could validate to fit the 2021 bronco so I bought it, installed it and it didnt work. So I checked around on line and budget bronco on youtube installed the curt verson of this unit and determined it only works with led taillights. The majority of broncos are halogen,as is mine so I called etrailer( 2021 and 2022 wiring are the same by the way) they said they could not validate for a 2022 bronco so since it was installed it could not be returned so Im out 116 dollars.Ive talked to several customer service people and this lady was short with me and no help. I've had good exp. with etrailer before and they are my go to for trailer parts but this disapoints.

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2022 Ford Bronco
The hitch that I recommend for your 2022 Ford Bronco is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT37GR. This hitch has a bolt-on, no-drill installation and will provide you with a 2" hitch receiver which is the most common size used for hitch mounted accessories such as bike racks, cargo carriers and ball mounts. Another nice feature of this hitch is that the receiver sticks a little bit further out, allowing you to use accessories like a bike rack with your spare tire on the back...

  • Comparing Curt and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receivers For a 2021 Ford Bronco
I as well am not an engineer but I can tell you that Draw-Tite has built and tested the Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT37GR strong enough to be able to handle 675lbs of tongue weight and a trailer weight of 4,500lbs. You do want to take into consideration that while the receiver is rated for these numbers you will still not want to exceed the specifications on your 2021 Ford Bronco. If you can't find these in your owners manual the service department at your dealer should be able...

Yes, both the Curt # C76WR and the Draw-Tite # DT37GR are compatible with your 2-Door 2022 Ford Bronco. I like the Draw-Tite hitch a little more just because it has a mounting bracket to easily connect the wiring. If you plan on using this hitch for towing then you'll also need the Wiring # TK99VR if you have LED lights or the Wiring # TK33VR if you don't have LED lights, as well as wiring bracket # 18144 (plus the No-Drill # 18140 if you use the Curt Hitch). • Parts Needed to Install 7-Way and Wireless Brake Controller for 2021 Ford Bronco
We can definitely help you with a 4-way and 7-way plus brake controller for your 2021 Ford Bronco. You'd first need to install a 4-way like the custom fit part # TK99VR which installs easily and is very reliable. Now for a brake controller I would recommend the wireless Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 which only needs to plug into an active 7-way and once synced to smart phone is ready to tow with. The part # TK99VR you have is if your Bronco has LED taillights. If you don't have the LED taillights then you need the T-One # TK33VR instead. This will not work with your LED and Halogen lights. For your 2021 Ford Bronco, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK99VR. Modern trailer wiring kits like the part # TK33VR which fits your 2022 Ford Bronco if it does not have LED taillights or the part # TK99VR if you do have them do require running a power wire up to the battery to draw power from for the trailer's taillights.
