Best Hitch for Carrying a Bike Rack and Towing on a 2022 Ford Bronco
Question:
I have a 2022 Ford Bronco and I am looking for a class III hitch receiver with a 2" opening for my Thule Bike rack. Is there something available that will work with my Bronco? I would also like the option to be able to tow as well.

The best class III hitch for a bike rack that fits your 2022 Ford Bronco is going to be the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver item # DT37GR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts directly to your Bronco's bumper bar with included hardware.
The reason this hitch is the best for carrying a bike rack is that it extends out far enough from beneath your Bronco to allow a bike rack to clear your spare tire. The center of the hitch pin hole for the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver item # DT37GR is 6" further out than the center of the hitch pin hole for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C76WR you were looking at. The center of the hitch pin hole will be 6" inside the outer edge of your spare tire.
This hitch also has the highest capacity available amongst Bronco hitches. It has a 4,500 lbs maximum towing weight and a 675 lbs maximum tongue weight.
I have linked an installation video along with a couple of pictures of this hitch both installed and with the dimensions included.
In order to tow you will also need a wiring harness to control your trailer's lights. The best one for your Bronco is from Tekonsha, and the correct fit will depend on if your Bronco has LED taillights or not:
- With LED Taillights: T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # TK99VR
- Without LED Taillights: T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # TK33VR
To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
