Having a propane gas leak in your RV is a scary situation that you don't want to even think about let alone experience. But this detector will give you peace of mind knowing that if there are dangerous levels of propane, it'll quickly and accurately warn you and your family so you can get out of the RV and into fresh air.
When propane gas is detected, the red LED will come on, and the horn will be constant. And because the sensor is highly selective, it's designed to only sound the alarm for lethal propane gas, reducing the number of false alarms that occur in non-threatening scenarios.
It'll also alert you when the battery is low or when the detector has reached the end of its life and needs to be replaced, so you never have to be without protection.
To double check that the detector is operating normally, you can easily use the button on the front to test the propane sensor and battery voltage. You should test your detector every time it's taken out of storage and before it's taken out for each camping trip. This button also lets you silence the horn up to 5 minutes during non-life-threatening situations. So, you can turn off that annoying racket in the middle of the night while you're trying to hunt for a new battery.
The 2 included universal mounting brackets allow this detector to replace 90 percent of all OEM surface-mount and flush-mount detectors. This detector can replace most Atwood and Dometic branded detectors, as well as Safe-T-Alert 20 series, 25 series, 30 series, 35 series, 40 series, 45 series, and 65 series detectors.
Because propane gas is heavier than air, it'll settle near the floor, so this detector should be installed 4" to 18" from the floor to accurately detect the presence of gas. Also make sure that the detector is located in an area that isn't near a window or door, behind furniture or drapes, or in a closet. It also shouldn't be installed with 24" near a stove, oven, fridge, or furnace.

Can replace almost any alarm.The fact that it came with a bracket that is a little bigger than what I started with was helpful. Mounting it was a bit tricky though because the opening was slightly too big. I had to screw the bracket into a thin board inside the opening with the previous screws. Think clamp. Board, wall, bracket, screwed together to clamp the bracket in place. There's an idea there for yet another way to make it easier to mount.
I cut a connector off of the old detector and spliced it to the new one so that I could reuse it. That worked well, with a shrink wrap over the splice.
I tested it once. It seems to work. But ultimately I cannot yet review anything but install and first impressions.
Very straightforward as far as install goes. Disconnect the old and hook up the new. I used wire nut to connect my wires with. Did not use the new cover plates at all was was impressed with the fact they were there if needed.

This Propane Detector replaced an old Atwood Protechtor Series 2001 and the larger bezel covered the hole from the old unit. It looks good.
1 year later working like a champ. I made one small modification on one of the tanks by slightly sanding the bottom where the sensor touched the tank. That one sensor was reading zero every so often. The paint on that tank was a little thick. That fixed the issue 100%.
My neighbors had their co2 detector go out at the same time as ours on their camper. They bought a replacement from Amazon, I bought mine from etrailer. They had to buy a new co2 detector this month. Very happy with my selection

Working as designed
I needed to replace an existing CCI 7770 propane detector. The folks at etrailer were awesome and told me this would work well in the existing opening.

Easy to install and attractive.
Propane Gas Detector works great once I installed it. The electrical wires were extremely short for the way my RV is wired, so made it rather difficult to complete the wiring part of the job. But once I got it the detector works great.
This unit much better than original. Flat design and now my big foot does not bump it being low on the deck! Another happy camper! Thanks etrailer!
Good replacement for Atwood detector. Easy install on 2017 Airstream.
Very easy to install. Instructions are clear and test went perfect. Had to install vertically due to the curved wall.
