These low-profile, lightweight cable chains are great for driving in light snow. Perfect for those trips where you need chains "just in case." Designed to fit passenger vehicles with tight clearance around the wheels.

Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if chains might affect your ABS/ESP functionality, consult your owner's manual.
These chains are great for giving you a little extra traction in the snow. But if you live somewhere where you experience heavy snow often, you'll definitely want something more heavy duty than cables. Because these cable chains are lightweight and don't take up a lot of storage space, they are also perfect for keeping in your trunk if you occasionally travel through areas that require you to have chains on hand.
SAE Class S tire chains are designed for use on passenger vehicles with restricted wheel-well clearance. Most newer cars, vans, and small trucks - especially those with large aftermarket tires - will require Class S chains. If you're unsure about the class of your vehicle, consult your vehicle's owner's manual.
These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new cable chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow cables that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. Even these low-profile cables can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing cable chains is easy.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks in the cables.
2. Where each cross cable attaches, you'll notice there is a smooth side and one with an edge. Make sure the smooth side faces in to sit against your tire's sidewall as you drape the cables over your tire.
3. On the front of the tire, feed the cable through the connection loop until it's tight, then feed the extra cable through the second loop to keep it from flapping as you drive. Repeat this on the backside of the tire.
Rubber adjusters (sold separately) are recommended to help ensure a tight fit. Connect these to the front side of the cable in a star pattern. Make sure the hooks face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.
Quick Tips:
To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

The front end hitch for my 2013 ford 150 arrived very quickly and fit perfectly without any drilling. I did have to eliminate the lower forward wind diverter and only needed a small notch out of the upper plastic shield. It took me about two hours with the help of my 4 year old grandson. Probably would have taken me about an hour and a half without the help.
It looks and works great except even though maneuvering the trailer is very easy , the visibility behind the boat I'm pushing is non existent. I need forward view mirrors instead of rear view mirrors.
I recommend this hitch and etrailer.
I just tested these tire cables for fit. Installing them is not as easily done as the etrailer video indicates. So, to all of the reviewers who've not even tried them on yet (how can one usefully review an unused product?), I'd suggest that you practice doing so before you need them. These cables are for a front wheel drive, 1997 Honda Accord wagon and are not my first tire chains. The installation process is a bit different than that shown in the video. Installing them alone, in ideal conditions, is somewhat awkward and time consuming. Installing them on a chain installation pull-out, with your gloves on, when it's very cold, windy and snowing, is even more awkward and time consuming. Anyway, today it was warm at about 30 degrees F. Still, it took me about 20-30 minutes to get them on and install the chain tighteners (the chains needed the tighteners for a good fit as they were a bit too loose without them on the 195/60 R15 tires). There being no snow, yet, I settled for test driving them, at 20-30 mph, on the dirt road that passes by my house. They stayed in place and needed no readjustment. Durability is still a question, thus, 4 stars rather than 5. The test finished, the chains were removed, cleaned, sprayed with WD-40 to prevent rust, then packed back into the included carrying bag. My first line of attack regarding driving on snow and ice is always an excellent set of winter tires. The chains are simply back-up for those very rare times when the tires aren't enough and/or the authorities won't allow you to continue on your way without having tire chains installed on your vehicle.
Worked well enough on flat, to slight incline. Wasn't great for hillier, snowy/icy sections in Truckee, CA. The bag it comes with is too small and the zipper broke after first use. Part of that could be me not knowing how to best fold up the chains (pay close attention how they were wrapped the first time you take them out), but it shouldn't be this difficult to get them back in without ruining the bag.
But for the price, can't really complain more than I just did...
I had been looking for cable chains for my car 2002 jetta, which had been difficult, until I went to etrailer. etrailer had exactly what my car needed, right style, right size.
etrailer was fast and efficient. Also a great follow up on my purchase.
Great Thanks,
Follow the reviews. I ordered this on a Wednesday and got it the following Monday. Came in two mini size duffel bags (1 set each bag). The shipping was quick, product is as described (I haven't yet put them on)
Excellent service. Already recommended a friend to get a set of his own as well.
Thank you!
A nice, simple set of cable chains. I did lay them out and look at the connections to make sure it all looked good. I like the nylon bag they came in compared to older plastic boxes that were impossible to get the chains back into.
I have yet to use the chains. I did receive the product very quickly though, 3 days from order to on my door step. Upgraded my shipping for no extra charge, thank you so much!! Great customer service with the emails letting me know exactly where my order was.
I haven't had to use these yet, but I carry them in case the I-70 requirement for chains even on my all wheel drive subaru are put in place. They are compact and fit in the back of the car -- no problem.
Got the chains and now my 1991 volvo 740 wagon is now a winter car. My mom is from San Diego and tie chains are availible just about everywhere. I live in vermont and we get lots of snow, and nobody has chains! I just want to thankyou for the excellant service and I will spread the word to everyone, thanks again
Haven't tried them out yet, but was very impressed with the customer service on your website. Fast shipping and updates along the way. Very satisfied and will recommend to my friends and family!
Haven’t had a Chance to Use Yet, as rood conditions where we went was not the bad. But service was good.
Chains were easy to put on, compact and light to carry, fit well, and got us up an icy hill that we would've otherwise had to be towed up!
Have yet to use the chains, I cannot believe they are not available in stores in CT. I am not driving much in the winter but if the weather is bad, I am ready to go. Comes in a nice little bag - great service and fast shipping.
Great product! We used them twice in Oregon. Saved our trip!!
Easy to use website. Personalized communications and immediate response to my question.
A great place to do business with.
If you have to drive while it is actually snowing, do not leave home without it. I have used this product before and had to buy a new one as the old one was worn out. It does the job.
Nice. Sturdy, easy to attach, came in its own carry bag so the chains are easy to store.
Great items at similar prices. Shipping is fast and customer service excellent. Thx!!!
Great occasional use chains for a great price.
Have not tried to install yet

Haven’t used them yet. Reasonable price.

Luckily I did not have to use the chains thus far. We go up to Canada where we have a place in the woods. But there was no snow this year. So, I am afraid, I wont be able to add anything to my review.
