Trouble Connecting the Inside Cable on Snow Cable Chains on a 2009 VW Jetta with 205/55-16 Tires
Question:
Hi, my vehicle is 09 Jetta and a tire size is 205/55/16 and I have a problem with connecting the inside part of the chain. I moved the car back and forth to try to link the inside part but I cannot connect the wire because the wire seems to be little short so it doesnt reach to the other end of the wire. The code of the product I bought is PW1930V.

The Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, (DISCONTINUED) PW1930V, (Now PW10300) that you referenced are the correct size for the 205/55-16 tires on your 2009 VW Jetta. There is a possibility that the tire brand on your Jetta is constructed differently than standard 205/55-16 tires and you would need to order a different size chain.
The first thing to do is make sure you are installing the cables in the correct order. You should connect the inside cable, with only one stop, behind the tire first and then the outside cable, with several stops, can be attached to the closest stop possible on the front side of the tire.
You also need to be sure the smooth side of the cable attachment brackets are situated to the inside against the tire. We have a video installation of this same type of cable on a different vehicle that should be helpful. Be sure to pull and stretch the cables around the tire as much as possible.
If these directions still do not allow you to install the chains on your Jetta, let me know the brand of tire on your wheels and verify the tire size for me and I will get a recommendation from the tire chain manufacturer for the correct size chain to use with your specific tire.
