Rock Tamers are adjustable to fit your specific vehicle's wheelbase. The mats move horizontally along the support rods and expand from 67-1/4" to 96-3/4" wide. The mats can also be adjusted vertically so that you can maintain proper ground clearance no matter the load you are carrying.

I recently added a 6-inch lift and larger tires to my truck. The tires stick out approximately one inch outside of the wheel well. This immediately increased the amount of rocks I was slinging every time I pulled out of my 400-yard-long gravel driveway.

We bought a travel trailer and the last thing I wanted to do was sling rocks at it non-stop or take the chance of busting a window. We all know how high the RV tech labor rates are.

I opted for this product to prevent a more expensive issue down the road.

The pros: They work as you'd expect them to. They are adjustable, both in height and width. You can shorten the actual flaps by cutting them and a hole punch is provided to create new bolt holes. They are easily removed when not in use.

The cons: Whoever wrote the directions may have been half asleep. In one step they'd say do something one way, then the next step another way. Super confusing but most of us can figure out how to install them. The flaps are not attractive to the eye but they get the job done. They are overpriced but I convinced myself to purchase them by knowing if it saves one puncture to the front hull of my camper or one busted window, they've paid for themselves.

I'd buy them again, even though I'd still mumble under my breath how much they are overpriced.

Good product in its ability to keep things from damaging the front of what you're towing. My problem was a chronic loosening of the set bolts on the bottom of the mount bracket. I tried re-toruqing and using locktite multiple times but the problem persisted...only took a few miles for the mount to loosen up and the flaps would stop flopping around. The fix my buddy finally came up with was a clamp that we had fabricated by a welding shop. This completely fixed the problem of a loose mount. I've had it on for a couple thousand miles now on interstate, two-lane, and a lot of miles on dirt and other unimproved roads and the mount stays tight...no more "flap flopping". Rock Tamers should include a clamp with each purchase and given this are expensive (but worth it except for the flopping) they should include it at no charge. My two cents...hope it helps someone else with similar problems.

E-Trailer’s customer service and Rock Tamers customer support have been excellent!

by:

I ordered the Rock Tamer mud flaps through etrailer, and as usual arrived promptly. I ordered these particular mud flaps after researching thoroughly. These were really easy to install and are very good quality. I would definitely purchase these again. A.I.C.,

by:

Great Product. Easy installation and s etup.

by:

These are a very solid flap. They have a great adjustability. I have a 6" lift and a wider tire and these fit perfectly. I would highly recommend and buy again if I ever needed them.

by:

Very easy to install looks like excellent coverage from the rear wheels. It's easier to cut the flaps with a jig saw and drill the holes with a drill bit makes it much faster. I'm also installing tow Towtector stub 2 inch shaft so I don't have to bang my shins and also installing a Curt 2 inch anti rattle device to take care of the play.

by:

I am having an issue with keeping the unit tight on the hitch but that's the only issue. It is doing an excellent in catching the rocks as I have big all terrain tires.

GREAT. Theyre the best thing for keeping the front of your trailer from having stonerock damage. If they were stolen, Id buy another one BEFORE pulling our RV trailer.

by:

Easy assembly easy installation this will definitely protect my boat from rocks thanks

by:

I put these on my truck and they made a big difference in the dirt and stone chips on my trailer highly recommend

by:

Paula, thank you for the help you gave me when I had questions regarding the Rock Tamers mud flaps, etc. Your service was great. The product is very cool and it was packed nicely. I am very excited to be able to install it tomorrow. Once again thank you very much.

by:

Great product. I use a B&W adjustable hitch and keep it mounted on the hitch. I bought the Rock Tamer wall mounts to keep it stored off the floor and out of the way.

by:

George, new Class 5 Curt Receiver, RV plug bracket with RV plug, Curt 14K pound hitch, Rock Tamer mud flaps. Everything was ordered and received in a timely manner. Every item installed with absolutely no problem. I am very pleased with ETrailer products. All that is left to do now is go pick up my new toy hauler.
Thank you,
Dwain H

I bought the Rock Tamers mud flaps for my GMC 2500HD to protect my 2016 30ft Airstream. Did install the heat shield as well since GMC exhaust is pointing right at the passenger side mud flap and it is a good thing I did. Rock Tamers worked perfect on our 3 month trip to Florida, should have bought it back in 2016!! The contraption is easy to take off and put back on when needed. Solid construction.

Excellent product! No problems after a year.

by:

It has definitely served it purpose and is a quality product. The bolts that clamp the bracket to the hitch shaft do not stay tight for long, even though double nuts are used. I find that it wants to pivot back and forth after use. The strong smell from the flaps prevents indoor storage. Overall, I would recommend this product.

Good. Keeps most rocks from hitting the trailer. The aluminum bracket is being damaged by pivoting back and forth, but it still works.

by:

Easy to install and remove.

by:

Great product works as advertised. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something to keep the rocks and debris off your rig! Simple install.

by:

I just received these rock tammers yesterday and have not had a chance to put them together yet but I can tell they are good quality. The flaps are heavy thick gage rubber. From order date to delivery date they only took 3 days to arrive. They were packed very well. The people at etrailer are great and I know now I’ll be ordering more products.

by:

Looks good. Well packaged. Detailed instructions included. Looking to pulling my fifth wheel with protection of the rock tamers.

by:

Love these so much! They go on so easy, and do a great job protecting our new trailer from rocks and road debris. Especially after driving on gravel. Solid stainless and/or metal components (which you can get replacement parts for), and I like how I can transfer them to a different vehicle if we upgrade trucks. Very high quality and sharp looking as well.

by:

The Rock Tamers are pretty robust and were easy to install. Great quality.

The rock tamers are holding up great, and have protected my boat from rocks and dirt. Great purchase

by:

great flaps and well built mounting brackets but the heat from exhaust deformed the flap despite installing the rock tamer heat shield at center point of heat on the flap.

  • Do the RockTamers Need to Have the Center Section Blocked to Protect Boat
Directly behind the tires will be where 99% of rocks/dirt would come up off the rear of a vehicle. Because of that the RockTamers Mudflaps part # ERT00108 would block nearly all of what would come off the rear of the vehicle. It is the tires that grab the rocks and other debris and fling it up into the air. I can assure you this setup would protect your boat. If the center section was an important section to keep blocked there would be laws to have it covered as well on semi-trucks and...

  • Will Rock Tamer Mudflap Fit With Curt Adjustable Ball Mount # C45900
Check out the picture of the Curt adjustable ball mount part # C45900 that you referenced. If you use the rear mounted pin hole you have 3.75 inches to the gusset. Rock Tamers like the part # ERT00108 require 1 inch of clearance on the shank. So since you have 2.5 inches from the pin hole to the opening of the hitch you'd have 1.25 inches left for clearance for the Rock Tamer with the Curt ball mount.

The Rock Tamers are only compatible with 2x2 inch ball mounts, not the 2-1/2x2-1/2 used by most Class V receivers. If you do have the 2-1/2x2-1/2 inch receiver, you would need to use a reducer sleeve like part # 58102 along with a 2x2 inch ballmount. The ballmount will need to be of sufficient length to clear the rear bumper of your truck. The Rock Tamers bracket that slides over the ball mount is just under an inch in width, which is why at least an inch of clearance is needed between...

The Rock Tamers # ERT00108 is width adjustable from 67-1/4 to 96-3/4 inches wide. Since the wheel track of your Sequoia is 69 inches at the rear, the # ERT00108 would fit the vehicle. Whether you'll need the # RT76FR heat shield or the # ERT200 outlets will depend on how and where your exhaust exits the rear of the vehicle.
