Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

  • What is the Difference in the Hidden Hitches for a 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid?
The safety chain hangers are mounted in different locations is the only difference between the Hidden Hitch item # DT98GR and item # DT97YR. Both hitches are confirmed to fit a 2023 Toyota RAV4 hybrid. They have a removable 2" receiver, with a 3,500 lbs towing capacity, and a 350 lbs maximum tongue weight. I have linked an installation video below.

  • Totally Hidden Trailer Hitch for 2022 Toyota RAV4 that Have 3,500 lb Total Trailer Weight
What's really interesting is the install instructions for the Draw Tite hitch part # DT98GR, which is Draw Tite's 76912, actually state that the capacities for this hitch are 1,750 lb total trailer weight and 175 lb tongue weight. BUT the really good news is that this hitch was replaced with our part number # DT97YR which is Draw Tite's part number 76929 which does have the capacities of 3,500 lb trailer and 350 lb tongue weight.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2023 Toyota RAV4 LE
Since the 2023 Toyota Rav4 is unchanged from the 2022 model the hitch fits carry over and the Curt hitch part # C13416 is a confirmed fit. This is a mostly hidden trailer hitch that only has the hitch opening that hangs below the rear bumper. If you wanted something totally hidden we have the Hidden Hitch part # DT97YR which has a detachable hitch opening that when not in use makes it completely invisible.

  • Does the EcoHitch item # EH97FR Black the Kick Sensor on a 2023 Toyota RAV4?
Yes, it will affect the kick sensor directly around the 2" receiver but you will still be able to utilize this function. You will just have to kick to the left or right and find where the EcoHitch item # EH97FR doesn't block the sensor. It will not affect the back up sensors. All hitches designed for your RAV4 have the same issue with the exception of the Hidden Hitch item # DT97YR. This has a removable receiver that you can take off when you're not using it. When it is left on it still...

  • Replacement Bolts for Trailer Hitch on 2021 RAV4 LE
The bolt size used depends on the hitch you have. A hitch like the etrailer # e23ZR or Curt # C13416 uses M12-1.25 x 35mm hex bolts. The Draw-Tite # DT82QR uses Bolt M12x1.25x30. The # DT97YR is a different style of installation so it has 1/2"-13 x 2.00 carriage bolts and M12x1.75x100 mm bolts along with other components. I recommend identifying the hitch and then checking the instructions for that hitch to find the right hardware. If it requires spacer blocks then you will want to use...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver Recommendations For a 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
I have a couple options for you depending on which you prefer for your 2021 Toyota RAV4 hybrid. First we have our etrailer Receiver # e23ZR which is a standard style receiver with a 2" opening. If you prefer a cleaner appearance the Hidden Hitch # DT97YR with its removable receiver would be a better option. The Hidden Hitch is a more extensive install to get the hidden receiver so depending on your skill level you may want to select either the etrailer receiver or look at having the installation...

  • Will The Hands Free Lift Gate Kick Sensor Still Work On 2024 RAV4 XSE With 2" Receiver Installed?
Yes, your kick sensor for your hands free liftgate will still work after installing a Class III receiver on your 2024 Toyota RAV4 XSE. I have linked an install video near the bottom of the page for our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e23ZR being installed on a 2022 RAV4 XSE where you can see him demonstrate the sensor still working around the 1:25 time stamp in the video. If you feel like the receiver is something you are not constantly going to be using you might consider the Hidden...
