  I spoke to my contact at Curt and he informed me that you will lose the factory tow hooks when you install the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch # C31020, BUT this hitch comes with tow hooks built into it so you should still be fine.

  I have seen this reported before and there is actually a note in the installation instructions on your Curt Front Hitch # C31020 where it talks about removing the oil filter and the interference with the front hitch. According to Curt, you must remove/discard the oil drip trough to allow full access to the oil filter for removal.   Think of the 300 pound capacity on front mount receiver # C31020 the same as you would tongue weight capacity on a rear mount hitch. The most vertical weight pushing straight down on the hitch would be 300 pounds. It would still work fine for winching applications even at angles.
