Is Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch 300 Pound Vertical Load Limit High Enough for 2009 Jeep Liberty

Question:

I see that the front hitch has a max vertical limit of 300 pounds. While I dont plan on using it for a front end lift change tire etc, I do still suspect there will be times where I have a winch on the front and hooked to a tree that might be above grade. Im worried that at small angles, the sinx of the load might exceed 300 pounds. Do you recommend against this version for use with a hitch-winch?

Think of the 300 pound capacity on front mount receiver # C31020 the same as you would tongue weight capacity on a rear mount hitch. The most vertical weight pushing straight down on the hitch would be 300 pounds. It would still work fine for winching applications even at angles.

Curt front mount hitch # C31020 is currently the only front mount option we carry for the 2009 Jeep Liberty. I have included a link to the installation instructions to the right.
