Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your rear cargo area. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

I bought a tow bar, hitch and wiring harness. Everything fit like it was supposed to, but the draw bar would have been easier to install if the car was brand new (8 yrs old, pre-threaded holes in frame corroded) but I made it work and now I can tow my boat!

Super straightforward easy install. Very quality product. Will order again.

by:

unit installed in just a few minutes and fit perfectly.

super fast shipping, only gripe is that my email "shipping confirmation" could not track the package (even though it claimed it could) so I was stuck waiting for the mailman everyday like a love lorn school girl.

Will definitely order from etrailer again.

Thanks to the installation videos everything went in fairly easily even though I didn't have an ideal work space to do the installation. I was pleased that the wiring harness worked on the first try.
Since making the installation I've towed my trailer over 3,500 miles total over 3 trips, trouble free. Very happy

For 2008 Scion xB: Easy installation to tail-lights, but would suggest removal of Air Cleaner box for routing "HOT" wire through engine compartment (battery to under side of vehicle).
Loosen 1 clamp, disconnect 1 electrical connection and remove top of Air Filter with filter element. Remove 4 screws in bottom of Air filter box and remove box. Tons of room, no fishing or hazzles.

by:

Easy to install. The power wire to the battery was a little tricky. I saw a review AFTER I did it that recommended taking out the filter box. That is a very, very good idea. A line of sight to make sure you aren't near any moving parts will save you a bit of a headache. I also ran the wire from the battery, DOWN, then to the back. That saved me from having to try fishing it UP through the engine compartment. No thank you...

All I can say is follow the video. I installed harness with out a lift. Jacked up the driverside and ran the wire as per video.
Great service and products. Thxs,

2008 Scion xB

Works fine, just wasn't aware that I'd have to run a wire all the way up to the battery--thought I'd be tying into some existing wires.

Product arrived way before expected. On-line video will make it a breeze to install! Looking forward to additional purchases of other vehicles!

2007 Scion xB

It looks like it is the right part. I can't install it until the weather gets better, so I don't know about it's performance.

  • Wiring a 2009 Scion xB to Tow an Aspen Trailer with 6-Way Connector and Separate Turn/Brake Lights
First, you will need to add a 4-Way trailer wiring harness on the 2009 Scion xB. You can use # 118468, that you have referenced. The rest of the installation will require a little hardwiring since trailers towed by passenger vehicles normally have combined stop and turn signals. What you will need to do is cut off the 4-Way plug after installing the wiring harness on the vehicle. This will leave you with a white wire, a brown wire, a green wire, and a yellow wire. You will need to use...

  • How Easy To Install T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness On Scion xB Is It Just Plug And Go
The item you selected, T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118468 plugs directly into the tail light harness of your Scion xB, but does require a ground connection and connecting to the battery. Part # 118468 plugs into the tail light harness at the rear driver side of your vehicle located behind the trim panel. You will plug part # 118468 into the tail light harness then, plug the connector into the tail light. After plugging in part # 118468 to the tail light harness, you will need...

  • Trailer Hitch, Hitch Ball, and Wiring Recommendations for a 2010 Scion xB
Yes. The Curt Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver with Drawbar, # 12490, will fit your 2010 Scion xB. This hitch comes with a drawbar, hitch pin and clip. There is no drilling required with this simple bolt on installation. I have included links to the instructions and an installation video below. This Class II hitch has a gross trailer weight of 3,500 pounds and a tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds. You will need to consult your vehicles owners manual for the xBs specific towing ratings....

  • Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for a 2008 Scion xB
The two wiring harnesses you referenced are essentially the same harness made by different manufacturers. Both are confirmed to fit your 2008 Scion xB and both will install in the exact same way. The only difference is the Curt Harness part # 56062 uses a more modern circuit board which has proven to better resist shorting out. Based on that I would recommend it over the part # 118468. I attached an install video that applies for both products for you to check out.

  • Largest Trailer Hitch Receiver Available for a 2010 Scion xB
The highest-rated trailer hitch available for your 2010 Scion xB is a Class II hitch from Curt: - Curt Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12490 The Class II rating means it is stronger than a Class I, but it still has a 1-1/4" receiver. Since motorcycle carriers need a larger/stronger 2" receiver, and a hitch adapter cuts the weight capacity in half, I recommend finding a small trailer to transport your motorcycle if the Scion xB is your only vehicle available to use. To tow a trailer...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2009 Scion xB
When there is an option always go for the highest Class hitch for any given vehicle. A higher class hitch will allow you more options for accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers in addition to greater towing capacity. For a 2009 Scion xB we have Class II trailer hitch # 12490. The towing capacity of the hitch is 350 pounds tongue weight and 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight. I have included a link to the instructions and a video for you. The towing capacity of a vehicle can change...

  • Troubleshooting Intermittent Running Light Output From the Tow Ready Harness part # 118468
If the the intermittent output of the running light circuit of the box of the part # 118468 is occurring while the input side of the circuit is staying constant then that would indicate that the box is bad and needs to be replaced. I attached an FAQ on troubleshooting 4-ways for you to check out as well.

  • What is Proper Trailer Wiring for a 2009 Scion xB
The Modulite that the local place was referring to is the black box you see on part # 118468. Rest assured, this is the correct part for your 2009 Scion xB. The 2009 xB has separate brake and turn bulbs, so the box combines these two signals so it can hook up to standard trailer light systems. There is also a loose red wire lead on the box that does need to be run to the battery. This is so the trailer is powered directly from the battery instead of pulling extra power through the factory...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver, Wiring Harness and Ball Mount For a 2008 Scion XB Release Trim
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12490 is confirmed by Curt to fit all trims of your 2008 Scion xB including the Release. They were unable to confirm the fitment with your Ken Style body kit but said as long as it doesn't lower the bodywork you shouldn't have to do any trimming. Curt recommends using the Ball Mount # C45521 for your Scion. This will need to be paired with either a 1-7/8" Ball # A-80 or 2" Hitch Ball # A-82 to match your trailer coupler. For the trailer lighting the...
