A little scary at first but went on my Geo Tracker easily. Extremely solid once installed. Made the tow from CA to Ohio a breeze. I did have to make some adapters to fit my towbar but that's not the fault of your product.

Still on my Tracker, ready to rock & roll whenever I need it.

Delivery of the products was EXTREMELY fast.
The
installation instructions referred to a page with adjustment instructions but the page was not included and I couldn't find the missing page on-line either. Installation was a bit more complicated than I thought it was going to be.
Very sturdy product. It should do a great job for me.

The base plates worked perfectly

The Real Story - The real story regarding what it takes to install the base is that it takes about 4 hours and . .

- You will need a small sledge hammer to pound the unit into the frame cross tube such that the attach points are solid against the frame and align properly at the center point bottom of the frame.

- You will need to remove the wheels to gain access to the side of the vehicle’s frame for drilling the attach points.

- You may need to jack the car up for ground clearance, to drill the bottom hole.

- I had to cut an access hole through the bumper cover to get the backing plate into the frame channel.

- You will need to pry off the frame mud guard, if your car has one.

- You may need to make a ruler like metal shim to hold the back plate while you screw the bottom bolt.

- A 6 ft pole lever is needed to force the front of the base down and thereby pivot the back flange up to align it to the slot like hole in the frame. This area is critical so make sure the hole you drill is match centered!!

- Drill small attach point holes first to make sure you have sufficient clearance on the back side, for the large washers and proper hole alignment with the base flange

- If it all goes well . . plan on a 4 hour job.

- The base is a real beast and could haul a Mac Truck!

- It is by far the easiest base to install, of any I evaluated.

- Would you recommend etrailer.com to a friend? Oh hell yes!

1994 Geo Tracker

Thank you for very fast delivery of the base plate kit. Once installed, the tow bar fit perfectly. I had to remove the front tire to get to the spot to more easily drill the four holes needed to install the brackets. It would be helpful to see a drawing in the instructions to assure proper installation of bolts, washers, nuts, etc., in addition to the written instructions. With careful reading, I completed the installation but "a picture is worth a thousand words." Thank you for a well-made and well designed kit.

1991 Geo Tracker

The base plates installed very easily. No need to remove the bumper cover or any other parts to the car. However, the bolts on my tow bar are drilled 3 inches apart which is a bit wider than the bolt holes on the base plates and required extra drilling on my part.

Geo Tracker

The base plates for my older geo tracker installed as the directions indicated they would and without any unwanted surprises. The plates themselves have quality welds as well as a good apperance. After installation was complete they were even in all perspectives. This product saved me from having to cut holes into the front plastic panels that would most likely not be replaceable.I will be more at ease while towing my tracker behind my motor home

Geo Tracker

I purchased a small Geo Tracker to tow behind my RV. So I needed the mounts the would allow me to tow it safely. After serching on the internet, I decided to purchase the mounts from etrailer because of low price andsimple design. (Some of them are really large.)
The product was received 2 days earlier than expected. It fit like a glove. After drilling the Frame (per Instructions) the mount is as solid as if it came from the factory. What a PHENOMENOL job your company does!!! I would HIGHLEY recommend your company to anyone that needs Towing products such as this. Thanks, Chuck Thomas

Haven't installed these yet as I just received them yesterday. When I opened them I could see they are of the best quality as I have installed other brands before on other toad cars. Doesn't look too hard to install. Plan on doing it this week end. Very quick delivery as usual for e trailer!!

1995 Geo Tracker

Perfect fit for my used 1995 Geo Tracker.
Install
took 2.5 hour. The next day towed the car for 800 miles without any issues.
The only negative is the almost none existing instructions provided.

by:
1995 Geo Tracker

The quality of this product is unbelievably good. Installation was a breeze and took about an hour including clean up of tools. The welds and heavy gauge of the material used in fabrication tells me this tow bar will be around long after I am gone. Thank You for an excellent American made product.

Product, as described. Delivered on time. Best price on internet and free shipping. IMO Roadmaster parts, way over priced.

Geo Tracker

I'm impressed by the clever design, very thick metal plates and high quality welds. Looks like it could tow two or three of my 2,200 pound Geo Trackers. Trial fit looks good, now have to drill the holes in the frame rails.

  • Base Plates, Tow Bar, and Accessories Needed to Flat Tow a 1993 Geo Tracker 4x4
Bascially, the Roadmaster Base Plates, # 118-1, will attach flat to the frame on the front of your 1993 Geo Tracker. We have not yet had the opportunity to install the base plates on a vehicle so we do not have pictures at this time. These base plates are what are called fixed brackets so they will always be visible on the vehicle. I recommend going with the XL style, # 118-3, which has removable arms, but otherwise install the same way. There are several other parts you will need to safely...

  • Will Roadmaster Base Plate to Blue OX Adapter Fit on a 1994 Geo Tracker with Standard Base Plates
Yes, you are correct, the Roadmaster Base Plate to Blue Ox and Demco Tow Bars Adapter, item # RM-033 will adapt the Roadmaster Standard Base Plate Kit, item # 118-1 for the 1994 Geo Tracker, for use with a Blue OX towbar. The # RM-033 adapter will work with Roadmaster Standard, EZ or XL Base plate kits. If EZ or XL base plates are used, then the Roadmaster Quick Disconnects, item # RM-201 are required to easily remove the draw bars from the towed vehicle.

  • Recommended Flat Towing Equipment For A 1994 Geo Tracker
The Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Fixed Arms Item # 118-1 is a confirmed fitting base plate for your 1994 Geo Tracker and to attach it to your Reese tow bar you'll need the Roadmaster Tow Bar Adapter # RM-025. To flat tow you'll also need a braking system, tow bar wiring, and safety cables. • Flat Towing Parts Needed for a 1990 Geo Tracker
Your vehicle is too old for me to be able to pull up the owners manual online, but if you check the owners manual in your vehicle there should be a section about recreational towing that details whether or not your vehicle can be flat towed and all the steps needed to be taken. For fixed arms that will always be visible at the front of the vehicle but that also cost less, use # 118-1. For base plates with removable arms but cost more use # 118-3. Next you will need a compatible tow...

  • Troubleshooting Misalignment After Roadmaster Base Plate Installation on 1994 Geo Tracker
The Roadmaster base plate kit # 118-1 should mount on your 1994 Geo Tracker so that you have a distance between the two front braces of 28-1/2-inches (with a 1/2-inch tolerance). The instructions (linked for reference) note this dimension and also to leave all fasteners loose after initial installation to allow for final adjustment and positioning before applying the final torque. Since the vehicle's front frame crossover tube is used for this installation you might try loosening the fasteners...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1994 Suzuki Sidekick Behind a Motor Home
Yes, Roadmaster base plates # 118-1 will fit your 1994 Suzuki Sidekick 2-door. All of the Roadmaster tow bars are compatible with these base plates. For an economical tow bar I recommend the Tracker # RM-020. For safety cables use # RM-643. For lighting, if your Sidekick has a metal roof, I recommend magnetic light kit # RM-2120. If it does not have a metal roof you can still use the magnetic light kit but you will also need magnetic tow light partners # TLP01. And finally, most states...

You will need the Roadmaster Standard Base Plate Kit, item # 118-1, or the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, item # 118-3, for your 1995 Geo Tracker. If you will not be towing the vehicle often I would recommend the standard base plate kit but if you are planning on towing more often then I would recommend the XL base plates with one of the nicer tow bars for convenience. Along with the base plate kit you will need a tow bar and wiring for the towed vehicles taillights. With the Standard...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1995 Geo Tracker Behind a Motor Home
Think of base plates the same way you would any vehicle specific part. Specific models of base plates are designed to fit specific vehicles and cannot be moved to other vehicles. The Roadmaster base plates # 1146-1 will not fit a 1995 Geo Tracker. You would not be able to modify them without compromising their integrity. Doing so would make them unsafe to use and may not even be possible depending on just how different the two vehicles are underneath. Roadmaster has 2 base plate options...
